1. Calculate the formula mass for each chemical in the reaction.
2. 62.4 g CaC2 reacts with excess water to yield how many grams of Ca(OH)2?
3. 62.4 g CaC2 reacts with excess water to yield how many liters of C2H2?

4. Fe2O3 (s) + 3 C (s) ↔ 2 Fe (s) + 3 CO (g)
1. 92.7 g Fe2O3 reacts with 16 g C. Identify the limiting reactant and give the theoretical
yield (in moles) of each product.
2. 215.6 g Fe2O3 reacts with 94.7 g C. Identify the limiting reactant and calculate the
theoretical yield of CO in liters.
3. If the percent yield of CO is 85.2% calculate the actual yield of CO (in liters) from #2.
4. If 82.7 liters CO of were actually recovered in problem #2 calculate the percent yield.
Test help
Hi class,
Here is some test help
Question 3-3.
The density of ethyne also known as acetylene is 0.001097 grams per mL.
Question 3-4.
The density of water is .98 mg/ml. This value is shown at the end of question 4. You do not need it for question 4.
Question 4-3
Density of CO is 1.145 grams per liter
Question 4-4 should read:
If 82.7 liters of CO were actually recovered in problem #2 calculate the percent yield.
Hope this helps you all.

Hello Class,
I know nomenclature is very frustrating. Please rest assured that I will not move to the next topic until you are ALL more comfortable with the topic. I will not collect this homework or the extra credit until you are all comfortable with your attempt.
The extra credit again was 60, 62, 64, 66, 70, 73, 89, and 92 from page 74-76.
You are to read pages 53-68.
On Thursday I will provide another handout and we will again discuss nomenclature, along with any exceptions to the rules. I will give you more practice on the material.
Thank you for your patience
